The work of the very personal painter Hans Emmenegger from Central Switzerland has been accessible to the public for over 25 years. This great stylist, who has always been positioned between the friendly Hodler and Böcklin, is the author of a very extensive body of work, of which 100 samples are collected in this catalog - the only available publication. What is special about Emmenegger's landscapes and still lifes, with some nudes, his animal or architectural representations, is a certain nostalgia that is reflected in the paintings and corresponds with Emmenegger's longing for the "beautiful, human-free and lonely place" in Central Switzerland.
