Product details

This is the Point of No Return. In a fictional letter to the Swiss painter who passed away in Geneva in 1996, Friedrich Meschede writes on the occasion of the exhibition at the Kunsthalle Bielefeld that his paintings appear "like battlefields, a struggle for the gestures of the figures, for the stubbornness of the viscous paint, to bring everything together into a certain physiognomy." Martin Disler was one of the prominent protagonists of the so-called Wild Painting movement in the 1980s, although he always preferred to see himself as a failed writer. Therefore, this uniquely and authentically designed catalog, whose book block is merely solidly stapled, features not only acrylic works on canvas, monotypes, aquatints, and linocuts (all in large formats) but also a series of terracottas and some of Martin Disler's original manuscripts.
