... and today there are 5000. This summer, Peter Dreher celebrated his 80th birthday. The diverse artistic work of the emeritus professor from the Karlsruhe Academy of Arts, born in Mannheim, reaches its peak in a series that has been continuously pursued since 1974. The panels, each measuring 25 x 20 cm and painted in oil on canvas or cardboard, consistently depict a single glass under the overarching title of the series, "Day by Day Good Day." On the occasion of his donation of over 400 works from this series to the Museum of New Art in Freiburg, the artist writes in a contribution: "An idea I had in the late sixties and early seventies was to paint a picture that is invisible. This is, of course, an impossible premise. A premise that cannot be otherwise addressed.".
