Serial formations 1967/2017
German, Bartels Wiehager, Renate, 2017Product details
In 1967, Peter Roehr and Paul Maenz curated the exhibition "Serial Trainings" for the studio gallery of the University of Frankfurt/Main, one of the first exhibitions on Minimal Art in Germany. As part of the exhibition and publication series "Minimalism in Germany," launched in 2005, the Daimler Art Collection is now attempting for the first time to recreate this historically significant presentation. Even back then, a high-quality summary of current international minimalist trends was created and confronted with the positions of German artists. The 62 works by 48 artists were selected according to the principle of serial order as a visual feature of the paintings and objects. Within them, very different, even completely opposing concepts could be found.
