Product details

The uprising at the extermination camp Sobibór remains one of the forgotten chapters of the resistance of the victims of Nazi extermination madness. Toivi Blatt was part of the small group of prisoners who planned and executed the revolt in October 1943. He is one of the few survivors of the camp where 250,000 Jews were murdered within a short year. In this book, which Blatt wrote as a supplement to his autobiography "Only Shadows Remain," the author focuses on a detailed description of the camp's establishment and the execution of the revolt. He also recounts the fate of the insurgents after the revolt: most of them died while fleeing—murdered by anti-Semitic partisans of the Polish Home Army, hunted by the SS, or shot during post-war pogroms after the liberation of Poland.
