Until now, twins Fabian and Fabiola von Weyrauch have led a decadent life of leisure, always considering each other the most important people in their lives. However, one evening at the legendary Schumann Theater, their lives change dramatically: the deep bond between them begins to crack when Fabian turns to the shady fencing master Captain Charles Veston, thus distancing himself from Fabiola. From the very beginning, Fabiola has been suspicious of the fencer. This suspicion grows when her brother soon finds himself in financial trouble and even has to pawn the beloved painting "Incense" by Fernand Khnopff. Following her intentions, she hires a private detective, who uncovers not only that the Captain frequents a BDSM brothel but also that he was already suspected of having poisoned his two wives and his daughter. When Fabiola confronts the fencing master, Fabian is found dead shortly after. And soon, she herself is in grave danger...
