Partnerships in which the relationship is constantly analyzed and subjected to psychological scrutiny are, based on experience, the worst. Reflexivity itself is not inherently negative. However, it is excessively exaggerated in our postmodern society. An unbounded culture of reflexivity has emerged. The result is overly analytical individuals who, with their incessant psychological evaluations and problematizations, are not only irritating but also block important decisions. Whether in private life or in politics: personal feelings take precedence over the common good, subjectivity outweighs facts, and a comfort-driven mandate restricts individual freedom.
