Zielke studied philosophy in Munich, briefly worked as an editor for the SZ-Magazin, and then as an editor in the Feuilleton of the FAS, where she has been working as a columnist since 2005. From 2003 to 2004, she lived in Brazil as a correspondent. In addition, she has published literary works for which she has received multiple awards. Zielke works as a lecturer at the University of Hildesheim and lives in Cologne. She is a member of the professional association Freischreiber.
