Annette Huber-Klawitter, née Huber, was born on May 23, 1967, in Frankfurt am Main. She is a German mathematician who specializes in arithmetic geometry and number theory. Huber-Klawitter won the Federal Mathematics Competition three times in a row as a high school student in 1984, 1985, and 1986. Starting in 1986, she studied mathematics at Goethe University Frankfurt am Main, Cambridge University, and from 1990 at the Westfälische Wilhelms-Universität in Münster, where she earned her doctorate summa cum laude in 1994 under Christopher Deninger (realization of mixed motives and their cohomology) and qualified as a professor in 1999. During the years 1995/96, she was at the University of Berkeley. In 2000, she became a professor at the University of Leipzig, and since 2008, she has been a professor at Albert Ludwig University of Freiburg.
