The Capabilities Approach is currently one of the theories with the most development potential for social work, but this potential has not yet been fully realized either nationally or internationally. Especially in times of neo-liberal social policy and neo-social reprogramming of social work, there is a need for an ethically informed and professionally competent profession that can define the relationship between individuals and society in a fragmented world. This can be achieved through education, training, individual assistance, and group work, as well as through social space design and community engagement.
