Systemic counseling has become a significant theoretical and practical area of social work and can be found in various fields of action. However, systemic thinking has not been adopted everywhere, whether due to a lack of financial resources, insufficient expertise, disinterest, or rejection. Possible reasons for this will be addressed in the context of the present research work. The main question is why the systemic paradigm is already being practiced in diverse ways and what the system theory of social work can offer. An interpretative approach will explore the meaning and action fields of three different educators who have committed themselves to systemic thinking in various areas of social work. The discussion will focus on whether and how this is the case.
