Social experience arises from a coexistence that neither integrates nor eliminates the strangeness of the Other. There is no sociality without alterity, and no alterity without sociality. This unsociable sociability unfolds in shared intentions and affections, between I and We, at the thresholds of the foreign and with the involvement of things.
