What are the conditions of possibility, and what are the limits of successfully establishing social policy innovations in the social world? This work addresses this question by analyzing knowledge structures. The analysis of the conflict between structures and interpretative patterns utilizes the tension between Bourdieu and Oevermann. Exemplary innovations include the idea of a basic income and evaluation as a tool in social work, which are the focus of the research.
