Product details
The volume contains the first chapter from Weber's still foundational work "Economy and Society." This "Sociological Basic Concepts" includes considerations that Weber developed during the elaboration of his "interpretive sociology," which were first expressed in his essay "On Some Categories of Interpretive Sociology" from 1913. With the new version of these methodical-conceptual reflections after World War I in the "Sociological Basic Concepts," Max Weber aimed, as he states in his 'Foreword,' to provide an expanded, as simplified as possible, and easily understandable version of his thoughts. In the course of the publication of his manuscript, an independent book section emerged from a brief conceptual introduction as he continued his sociological typology.
