The empirical study focuses on the educational experiences and well-being of 10 to 18-year-olds. It examines the extent to which acceleration and optimization in late modernity impact the well-being of adolescents and how parents support them with a counseling approach to parenting. A new parent-child relationship has emerged that fosters the development of coping strategies in dealing with diversity and promoting good well-being. To discuss the theses and empirical findings and to outline the contours of a late modern youth, we engage with the discourse of youth research and incorporate assumptions from research on well-being.
