The volume gathers selected interviews and essays by the architectural theorist Werner Sewing, published between 1998 and 2010. Their thematic range includes the discourse on city and society, politics and participation, spatial models and images, as well as lifestyle concepts in the context of retro design, event culture, globalization, and digitalization. Werner Sewing's critical analysis and decoding of the underlying structures of a strategic policy framework since postmodernism is of current urgency and relevance for defining contemporary architecture. The volume also contains archival material on one of the first citizen initiatives in West Berlin against the Senate's development at Winterfeldplatz from the 1980s.
