School and education need to be rethought at this time. Important impulses come from an alliance of contemporary art, art education, and cultural pedagogy. An exhibition shown at the Kunsthaus Dresden and the Rathausgalerie Munich raised the question of what strategies we need to enable aesthetic education in a holistic sense and to equip young people with artistic and media skills, as well as their own judgment. The volume contains documentation of the artistic works presented in the exhibition. At the same time, it offers a chronological overview of the history of art education over the past 100 years through a series of essays, featuring texts by Ulrich Klemm, Andreas Pehnke, Karl Josef Pazzini, and Stephan Dillemuth, among others.
