We should and want to treat the "whole person" as much as possible, not just sick organs. This is not always achievable; there is no simple recipe. I have always let the current circumstances guide me and have aligned my behavior to the best of my knowledge and belief. Anyone who deals with the sick will give their best in this way. I am convinced of that. So why am I writing this book? Because I am also convinced that the "best" could occasionally be even better. Professionally, in their specialty, everyone continues to educate themselves as well as they can. But who then also reads a psychology textbook or relevant professional journals to enhance the whole experience?.
