Product details
Beny Rehmann (September 11, 1936) is a trumpet player from the Swiss canton of Aargau. After initial attempts with an accordion, he switched to the trumpet at the age of 16. The trained bodywork mechanic founded his first band in 1963 with three fellow musicians. Although Rehmann hails from the Aargau district of Laufenburg, the quartet was named Die lustigen Tiroler Musikanten. A year later, he established his orchestra, which primarily played in the Oberkrainer style and typically consisted of five to six members. They performed as the Beny Rehmann Quintet, Beny Rehmann Sextet, and finally as the Beny Rehmann Show Orchestra, achieving great success in Europe and partially overseas. The music pieces, especially the evergreen Schiffsfeger-Polka, were mostly composed by the bandleader himself. Numerous titles feature lyrics, some in Swiss German.
