Product details
The landslide of Goldau on September 2, 1806, was a natural disaster in Switzerland. The landslide had already been signaled about 30 years earlier by characteristic signs such as increasing crack formation on the mountain, rolling stones, the loud snapping of uprooted roots, the formation of water-filled open crevices, and rumbling noises. Although everyone expected that the Rossberg would eventually collapse, only five people took action and left the danger zone. After particularly rainy years in 1799, 1804, and 1805, along with a wet spring and August in 1806, the disaster finally occurred on September 2.
