Abstract: I will begin with a classical text analysis, in which narrative behavior and narrative stance will be examined. I want to focus on the special speaking situation that makes the "mirror story" an unusual and unique narrative art. To understand the speaking situation, the narrative must be placed in a specific literary historical context beyond the text analysis. I aim to investigate to what extent Aichinger's new narrative art, which replaces the devastation, can be described as Kafkaesque and follows a pattern characteristic of Austrian linguistic skepticism.
