The golden age of superheroes is over. Abraham Slam and his companions - Golden Gail, the girl with superpowers, the mystical Madame Dragonfly, Barbalien, the warlord from Mars, and Colonel Weird with his faithful robot Talkie-Walkie - were once the protectors of Spiral City. But after a fateful battle against their arch-nemesis, they find themselves in a godforsaken nest somewhere in the middle of nowhere. There, the heroes must reluctantly settle down, as there is no escape from the small town, as they painfully discover. Abraham's attempts to lead a harmonious family life prove to be difficult - the personalities of the greatest heroes the world has ever seen are too different, and the wounds they have carried after decades of fighting for truth and justice run too deep.
