John Wayne was already six feet under, and the Italian Western had already plowed the prairie. You can see it in Durango: His debut owes a lot to the two Sergios, Leone and especially Corbucci. But by then, the two had already packed their saddlebags and moved on. Durango, however, came and stayed.
