June 30, 1960. After 80 years of colonial rule, the Republic of the Congo breaks away from the Kingdom of Belgium. However, the young state is on shaky ground, and just two weeks later, the province of Katanga declares its independence. A bloody conflict erupts between the Congo and the secessionists over the rich mines in Katanga; a conflict that quickly escalates into a massacre. The UN is forced to intervene and sends in peacekeeping troops, while the leaders of Katanga hire a notorious mercenary group to liberate the occupied mines. Amidst the chaos, the servant Charlie unexpectedly comes into possession of a suitcase full of diamonds, making him the most wanted man in Africa. A political thriller set in a historical context, not for the faint of heart. The duo Nury/Vallée delivers.
