To save his people from a murderous winter, Alrik travels to Asgard to meet the god Odin in person. This marks the beginning of an epic adventure from the heart of Norse legends. As Alrik, son of King Lothar, and his warriors follow the trail of a wild boar, they witness a massive lightning strike nearby. Approaching the crater, Alrik and his companions find an unconscious Valkyrie. When they attempt to reach the young woman to bring her to safety, a titanic colossus blocks their path. Months later, the people of Midgard suffer from the coldest winter they have ever experienced. As if that weren't enough, they are also plagued by attacks from a mysterious enemy. The foreign monster leaves nothing but torn and mutilated corpses in its wake. Alrik is determined to meet Odin in person.
