Product details

Kathrin Dudenhöffer investigates the market potential for electric vehicles in Germany and China, as well as the factors influencing the acceptance of potential users. To do this, the author collects data through representative surveys and conducts experimental studies with test drives of electric vehicles in both countries. Her work is based on a theoretical model derived from the Technology Acceptance Model. A PLS approach with predominantly formatively specified constructs was chosen for the model calculation. The study shows that personal experience with the product is essential at the beginning of the diffusion process, as participation in test drives positively alters acceptance structures. The comparison between Germany and China reveals untapped market potentials; for instance, a high intention to use electric vehicles is observed in Beijing.
