The book "Algebraic Geometry for Coding Theory and Cryptography" offers a comprehensive examination of the intersections between algebraic geometry, coding theory, and cryptography. It is based on the findings of an interdisciplinary conference that took place in February 2016, in collaboration with the Association for Women in Mathematics. The conference brought together researchers from various disciplines to exchange ideas and challenges. This volume includes five peer-reviewed and revised papers that aim to address problems in coding theory or cryptography using algebraic geometry. Topics covered include variants of the McEliece cryptosystem, locally recoverable codes from algebraic curves and surfaces, as well as algebraic approaches to multicast network coding.
