Especially under the guise of the terrorist attacks of September 11, banks are increasingly becoming accomplices to state policy. In most cases, the focus is not on countering terrorism, but rather on the tax collection from ordinary citizens. However, these individuals are not adequately informed about what information from their personal banking transactions is shared and how what is commonly referred to as bank secrecy is circumvented. It becomes evident that bank customers who are aware of the information sharing are more likely to resort to circumvention methods such as cash transactions or capital shifts. Additionally, the trust relationship between banks and customers is severely negatively impacted.
