Anna-Maria Kamin explores how job-relevant learning is practiced among employees in health and nursing care and the significance of digital media in this context. For this purpose, 14 qualitative interviews were conducted with professionals from various fields of nursing and related social work areas, analyzed using the methodology of Grounded Theory and the documentary method. The empirical analysis identified three typical biographical learning patterns for the profession: a strong professional orientation, a desire for structure, and a preference for social forms of learning. A dialectical relationship between structure and actors in the teaching-learning process was demonstrated. Professionally active caregivers are thus seen as actors navigating between individually constructed and institutional frameworks.
