Eileen Böhner-Taute demonstrates that significant increases in social inequalities and a tendency towards reductions in ethnic inequalities can be identified throughout the educational trajectory, even after the pathways to the Abitur have been opened up through alternative routes to higher education. Furthermore, transition and stock inequalities, as well as their development, vary specifically by education system. The author shows that particularly restrictive and strict variants of school systems, as well as similarly designed individual administrative regulations, reduce educational success.
