The chemistry practical course represents an important part of the preclinical education for students of medicine and dentistry. It imparts practical knowledge about experimental work. The experiments include chemical reactions and analytical methods that form the basis of biochemical and physiological laboratory work. At the same time, the practical engagement with chemistry deepens the theoretical knowledge acquired in lectures and exercises. Over 65 tasks across eleven course days, the laws and model concepts of chemistry are exemplarily explored. Additionally, the safe handling of hazardous substances and their disposal are addressed from the perspective of hazardous substance regulations and environmental protection.
