In this book, psychotherapists, counselors, and coaches learn how to activate their patients' and clients' resources as positive potentials to satisfy their basic psychological needs using a structured journal. The resource journal includes 12 questions assigned to 7 areas of resources (well-being, general sources of strength, self-esteem sources, positive self-schemas, gratitude, goal development, attachment). The journal is maintained over a period of 4 weeks; it is part of the book and is also available for download. The authors explain the theoretical and empirical foundations as well as the structure and application of the resource journal. This easily applicable and efficient writing intervention can serve as an independent strategy across disorders or as a complementary method for resource activation.
