The significant advancements in the production of seamless pipes in recent years, along with the ability to achieve very high precision regarding cross-sectional shapes and wall thicknesses during the manufacturing process, have led to the sophisticated design of complex apparatuses that already hold a special position in the metallurgical industry today. However, this knowledge is still not sufficiently accessible to many interested parties among deformation engineers due to a lack of literature. Closing this gap is the primary objective of this document. Designing calibrations for the tools of those machines used in the production of hollow bodies requires an understanding of the deformation processes that occur during the rolling or drawing of pipes, which vary depending on the type of manufacturing processes.
