Stefanie Lahn approaches the question of how far the business plan instrument can achieve the goals of startup support from different perspectives. She notes that only a part of the entrepreneurial process is covered. The heterogeneity of startups, their context dependence, and the importance of creativity in the entrepreneurial process and in the development of innovative business models are largely ignored. All of this suggests an overestimation of the business plan instrument in startup support practice. Therefore, it is questionable whether startup support achieves its goals or if there are still untapped potentials in this area.
