Product details
Through a synthesis of social, cultural, and humanities literature, as well as a combination of qualitative and quantitative surveys, Mathias Weber examines how the interplay between peer groups and media usage facilitates adolescents' engagement with their identity and thus helps them cope with the central developmental tasks of adolescence. Particularly, the media consumption behavior of young people is highly integrated into the interactions within their peer groups. In the shared use and discussion of media content, adolescents reflect on the challenges of their everyday lives and experiment with new behavior patterns.
