The book is aimed at students of technical universities and universities of applied sciences, as well as engineers in research and development who wish to delve into the topic of image transmission technology. Only basic knowledge of electrical engineering and communication technology is required. The book provides introductions to extensions and specific topics from the natural sciences that are part of the fundamentals of television. The first five chapters systematically lead to a comprehensive understanding of all physical and technical requirements for moving image transmission. The advanced requirements that come with color transmission are only developed in the last chapter of this series. The result is the definition of a general system that includes a luminance signal and two color difference signals.
