The book addresses the position of midwives both in obstetrics in general and in relation to doctors based on their civil liability. It engages with the current debate and takes into account recent legislative changes. In addition to examining the contractual and tortious bases of liability, the scope of liability is also explored. Another chapter is dedicated to the midwife's duties and errors in treatment, with a particular focus on information and consent. Following this, the procedural peculiarities of midwives, especially within the realm of evidentiary law, are examined. The final chapter deals with the issue of liability insurance premiums and explores various concepts for improving the insurance situation of midwives.
