Product details
This book explores the idea of science and its evolution throughout history. Aristotle represents the beginning of this idea, which has continuously thrived in the intellectual history of the Western world and ultimately led to our modern world. Accordingly, science is a conceptual structure with a specific architecture: a network of statements whose structure ultimately arises from a few, unprovable principles. How has this idea developed over the course of history? What should one demand today in such a conceptual structure regarding the terms, fundamental statements, justifications, and subsequent assertions when talking about science? The author addresses these questions and provides possible answers for three different fields: physics, legal studies, and Christian theology, as there is a long tradition in all three.
