Due to the course of the war, the development of the hydrogenation of coal, tar, and mineral oils into fuels of all kinds, primarily carried out by I.G. Farbenindustrie A.G., has come to a certain standstill. At the same time, this has led to a loosening of the circle of hydrogenation specialists. It would be very regrettable for the progress of technology if the knowledge and experiences gathered to a great extent during the twenty years of small and large-scale development of the I.G. hydrogenation process were to disperse and thus be lost for the technicians who will work on the further development of the hydrogenation process. So far, the field has been represented not only in general literature but also in numerous reports from American and English technical organizations.
