More and more people from all sectors are coming into contact with the technology and economics of energy conversion; an increasing number of power plant engineers must deal with the planning, execution, and operation of power plants; more engineers from the supplying industry require an overview of the shaping forces that influence the power plant and their own technology; an increasing number of students and young professionals need to familiarize themselves with the fundamentals of energy generation; and more individuals from other professions are establishing some connection with the generation, transmission, or use of electrical power in their professional or private lives.
