Matthias Wühle questions the traditional business ethics that treats ethics as a corrective to the economy. The focus is on the problem faced by companies that want to act ethically but see either a fundamental contradiction to their own business interests in applying such ethics or instrumentalize this ethics as a marketing and PR tool. The manifestations of this behavior are often found in the realm of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and do not meet ethical standards or the goals of sound business practices.
