In problem-centered interviews, parents of children aged 11 to 15, who are in the transition phase between primary school and secondary school, share their perspectives. They discuss how they accompany their children and how they perceive the transitions in education and adolescence. Katriina Vasarik Staub highlights that parental involvement in education comes with a significant burden. Parents want to not only support their children on their journey but also promote and educate them, to an extent that has hardly been explored so far. The compelling statements from the parents encourage reflection on the potential of parental involvement in education and the functioning of school communities within our education system.
