This textbook covers a canon of topics that has become an integral part of the computer science curriculum at many universities under the title "Discrete Structures." In its presentation, special emphasis is placed not only on mathematical precision but also on promoting intuitive understanding to facilitate comprehension and contextualization of the material. This is supported by numerous examples and exercises, primarily from the field of computer science. The textbook is based on lectures that have been held for several years at the Technical University of Munich. Topics include: combinatorics, graph theory, algorithmic principles, recurrence relations, and algebra.
