The numerous innovations regarding classification, diagnostics, conservative, interventional, and surgical therapy are described in detail and placed in the context of established procedures. Both uncomplicated diverticulosis and diverticulitis and diverticular bleeding are taken into account. Renowned experts, many of whom were also involved in the creation of the guideline, have been engaged as authors.
