The textbook provides an initial introduction to the fundamental laws of mechanics. Based on the concept of a rigid body and the independently introduced loads of force and moment, the two independent balances of forces and moments in the case of equilibrium of a body and its arbitrary parts are postulated. This addition to Newtonian mechanics, primarily made by Euler, opens a path that connects the advanced topics of strength theory and kinetics with statics in a unified concept. This creates favorable conditions for an easier understanding of the entire field of Technical Mechanics and subsequent areas, particularly those underlying computer mechanics. The book covers, in a proven arrangement, planar simple and composite structures, including the cutting reactions, as well as, to a lesser extent, spatial structures.
