Product details

Miriam Mauritz examines the intergenerational educational and relational dynamics between mothers and daughters as key figures in the children's store movement. Thematically positioned at the intersection of student movements, children's stores, and the new women's movement, her focus is on processes of emancipation. The author operates under the assumption that biographical emancipation processes can be reconstructed, thereby making social historical events individually visible. She conducts empirical analyses of biographical interviews, the results of which are linked back to the discourses of the social movements of 1968. In addition to a conceptual approach to the notion of emancipation, particularly from the perspective of critical pedagogy, she offers a historical analysis of the politicization of the private sphere.
