The criminologically oriented topic addresses the current and rarely empirically studied phenomenon of so-called mass killings - multiple murders with unclear motives, primarily committed in public spaces. The author provides a comprehensive overview of existing findings on various killing phenomena. In this context, the aspect of reconstructing the perpetrator's perspective in selected cases is particularly emphasized to demonstrate that there are common structures underlying these acts.
