Product details
The book "Geographic Hypermedia" provides a comprehensive introduction to a novel paradigm that arises from the fusion of Geographic Information Science and hypermedia technology. These two fields have developed rapidly in recent years. The idea of Geographic Hypermedia emerged in 2004 when the editors were invited to organize a workshop as part of the annual "Hypertext" conference. The goal of the workshop was to explore how concepts and tools of hypermedia can be applied in geographical domains. The workshop took place in 2005 in Denver, Colorado, and brought together multidisciplinary researchers and professionals to discuss this new paradigm. The contributions gathered in this book are extended versions of the papers presented during the workshop, as well as some invited chapters from experts in the field. "Geographic Hypermedia" offers the scientific community a contemporary perspective on the development and unique characteristics of this emerging paradigm.
