"Highlights of Spanish Astrophysics II" is a comprehensive collection of the proceedings from the fourth scientific meeting of the Spanish Astronomical Society (SEA), which took place from September 11 to 14, 2000, at the University of Santiago de Compostela in Galicia. This meeting brought together 156 participants who presented their latest research findings on a variety of astrophysical topics. Compared to previous meetings of the society, there was a significant increase in the number of lectures and poster contributions, highlighting the growing importance of SEA conferences as a reference point for the interests and achievements of astrophysical research in Spain. A special highlight of the meeting was the inaugural award for the best Spanish doctoral thesis in Astronomy and Astrophysics, which was presented to Dr. H. Socas. This award aims to encourage young Spanish astrophysicists to pursue a high-level scientific career. The meeting was supported by the hospitality of the University of Santiago de Compostela and the Ramón María Aller Astronomical Observatory, contributing to a successful and enjoyable experience for all participants.
