Claudia Heinrich analyzes the contractual relationship between interim managers and client companies. She investigates the extent to which the use of interim management can be associated with a principal-agent conflict and which tools companies can employ to resolve it. This is done from a theoretical perspective by deriving hypotheses, which are examined through two empirical studies. The author interprets and evaluates the findings, allowing her to derive numerous practical recommendations for action and design.
